Early Life and Family
Avika Gor was born on 30 June 1997 in Mumbai into a Gujarati family. She grew up in the city and studied at Sharon English High School in Mulund. She started working in front of the camera as a small child, and by the age of ten she was already appearing on television. Because she was working on a daily show from such a young age, much of her schooling was balanced around shooting schedules.

Her early start shaped her career. Unlike many actors who join the industry after college, Avika grew up on sets and learnt acting largely on the job, alongside senior actors in long-running daily shows.
Avika Gor Career
Child Actress and Balika Vadhu (2008–2010)
Avika made her television debut with a small part in the horror anthology Ssshhhh… Phir Koi Hai and played young Rajkumari Bhairavi in Raajkumar Aaryyan. Her big break came in 2008, when she was cast as young Anandi in Colors TV’s Balika Vadhu, a drama about child marriage in rural Rajasthan. The show became one of the most-watched programmes on Hindi television, and Avika’s performance as the innocent but strong-willed child bride made her famous across India and abroad.
The role won her several Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards, including Best Child Artist, and she became one of the most recognised child actors on Indian television. She left the show when the story moved forward in time and the grown-up Anandi was played by Pratyusha Banerjee.
During this period she also acted in films: Morning Walk (2009), Paathshala (2010) and Tezz (2012).
Sasural Simar Ka (2011–2016)
In 2011 Avika joined Colors TV’s Sasural Simar Ka as Roli, the younger sister of the lead character Simar. She stayed with the show for about five years, playing Roli as she moved from a cheerful young girl to a married woman dealing with family drama. The role helped her move from child roles to adult roles on television and kept her among the most familiar faces on Hindi TV.
Telugu Films (2013–present)
While still working in Sasural Simar Ka, Avika started a parallel career in Telugu cinema. Her first Telugu film, Uyyala Jampala (2013), co-starring Raj Tarun, was a surprise hit, and she won the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Telugu. She followed it with Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki (2014), Cinema Choopistha Mava (2015), Thanu Nenu (2015) and the fantasy thriller Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada (2016), in which she played a dual role as Ayesha and Amala.
Her later Telugu work includes the horror comedy Raju Gari Gadhi 3 (2019), the ZEE5 film Net (2021), Bro (2021), 10th Class Diaries (2022), Thank You (2022) with Naga Chaitanya, Umapathi (2023) and Shanmukha (2025). She also acted in the Kannada film Care of Footpath 2 (2015) and made a special appearance in Natasaarvabhowma (2019).
Laado, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Producing
Avika returned to Hindi television in 2017 with Laado – Veerpur Ki Mardani, playing Anushka Sangwan. In 2019 she took part in Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, where she finished 12th. In 2023 she turned producer with the Telugu romantic drama Popcorn, in which she also played the lead role of Sameerana. She has also written a short film, I, Me, Myself (2017).
Hindi Films and Web Series (2022–2026)
Avika made her adult Hindi film debut as a lead in Vikram Bhatt’s horror film 1920: Horrors of the Heart (2023), playing Meghana, a young woman whose body is taken over by a spirit. She also acted in Kahani Rubberband Ki (2022) and the horror thriller Bloody Ishq (2024) on Disney+ Hotstar. On streaming she appeared in the Telugu anthology Mansion 24 and the thriller series Vadhuvu, both in 2023. She has also acted in two Kazakh films, Kazakh Business in India (2022) and I Go to School (2023).
