Early Film Career

She later said that this difficult phase pushed her to try television anchoring, which turned out to be the right move.

Pove Pora and Anchoring Career

Vishnu Priya became popular as a co-host of Pove Pora, a youth game show on ETV Plus, alongside comedian and anchor Sudigali Sudheer. The show’s college-style games, fast banter and Vishnu Priya’s lively screen presence made it a hit with young viewers, and her pairing with Sudheer became one of its main attractions.

After Pove Pora, she appeared on several other Telugu shows, including the game show Tollywood Squares and the dance reality show Dance Jodi Dance. She also built a strong digital presence through comedy short films, YouTube sketches and her own YouTube channel, where she shares her personal and professional life with fans. Vishnu Priya in Bigg Boss Telugu 8

Before 2024, Vishnu Priya had often said she was not interested in Bigg Boss. In an old interview she even said she would not join the show for crores of rupees and asked why anyone would want to stay inside the house. So when she walked in as the 12th contestant on the opening night of Bigg Boss Telugu 8 on 1 September 2024, hosted by Nagarjuna on Star Maa, her old comments quickly went viral.

Reports during the season said she was the highest-paid contestant, earning about ₹5.5 lakh per week. Inside the house, she was one of the most discussed housemates, both for her outspoken personality and her close friendship with fellow contestant Prithviraj, which became a running topic on the show and on social media. She often polled well with viewers in the early weeks and survived several nomination rounds.

Vishnu Priya lasted until week 14, the semi-final stage of the season. She was evicted in a double elimination along with actress Rohini, shortly before the finale. Her run made her one of the longest-surviving women of the season.

Bigg Boss Telugu 8 at a Glance

The eighth season of Bigg Boss Telugu began on 1 September 2024 with 14 contestants, who entered the house in seven pairs. The first batch included Yashmi Gowda, Nikhil Maliyakkal, Aditya Om, Kirrak Seetha, Nainika Anasuru and Nabeel Afridi alongside Vishnu Priya, and several wild-card contestants joined later in the season.
