For Anurag Kashyap’s directed film ‘Madly’ released in 2016, Radhika Apte won the Best Actress in an International Narrative Feature at The Tribeca 2016 Awards.
This is what the Jury’s Comment was like: “This award goes to an actress who has conveyed bravery and emotional depth in different relationships around her. A contemporary story that breaks through established culture.”
Radhika also won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Actress for the film ‘Parched’. In 2017, Radhika was also nominated for Critics’ Award for Best Actress for the film ‘Parched’.
Interestingly, this is a film in which Radhika’s nude shot had leaked online (shot with co-star Adil Hussain) and went on to create quite a controversy. Radhika had this to say, “I am not ashamed of anything. People who are embarrassed about their own body are curious about other’s body. So if you want to see a naked body tomorrow, see yourself in the mirror rather than my clip. Then only we can talk about this.”
For her performance in Dhoni (her maiden Tamil film), Radhika was nominated for SIIMA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
