Early Life
Vishwak Sen was born Dinesh Naidu on 29 March 1995 in Hyderabad. He grew up in the city, and his deep connection to Hyderabad, especially the Old City, shows in the setting and language of several of his films. Before entering films he changed his name to Vishwak Sen on the advice of his father, Karate Raju, who believed in numerology and felt his son would not succeed under his birth name. His father later produced his films under the banner Vanmaye Creations. As a teenager, Vishwak appeared briefly in the Telugu film Bangaru Babu (2009).
Career
Vellipomakey and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi (2017–2018)
Vishwak made his lead debut as Chandu in the low-budget romance Vellipomakey (2017), which drew decent reviews and a SIIMA nomination for Best Male Debut. His breakthrough came with Tharun Bhascker’s Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi (2018), a comedy about four friends who reunite and set out to make a short film. Vishwak played Vivek, the hot-headed leader of the gang. The film was a box-office success and grew into a cult favourite among young Telugu audiences, winning him the Santosham Award for Best Debut Actor.
Falaknuma Das and “Mass Ka Das” (2019)
Vishwak made his directorial debut with Falaknuma Das (2019), a gritty remake of the Malayalam film Angamaly Diaries set in Hyderabad’s Old City, in which he also played the lead. The film was produced by his father under Vanmaye Creations and presented by D. Suresh Babu. Reviews were mixed, but its raw depiction of the Old City was praised, and it won him the Santosham Award for Best Debut Director. The film’s success gave him the fan nickname “Mass Ka Das”.
HIT and Commercial Success (2020–2022)
He played Inspector Vikram Rudraraju in the crime thriller HIT: The First Case (2020), produced by Nani, which received positive reviews and launched the HIT franchise. He followed it with the romance Paagal (2021), with Nivetha Pethuraj, and then two well-received 2022 films: the family drama Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, in which he played an older bachelor struggling to find a bride, and Ori Devuda, a remake of the Tamil hit Oh My Kadavule, with Venkatesh in a cameo.
Das Ka Dhamki and Gaami (2023–2024)
Vishwak directed his second film, Das Ka Dhamki (2023), playing a double role as a waiter, Krishna Das, and a ruthless businessman, Dr. Sanjay Rudra; the role won him the Santosham Award for Best Villain. In 2024 he took a bold turn in Vidyadhar Kagita’s adventure drama Gaami, playing Shankar, an Aghora with a rare condition who travels to the Himalayas. The film was praised for its visuals and ambition and is often called one of his best performances. He then starred in the rural action drama Gangs of Godavari and the action comedy Mechanic Rocky (2024).
Laila, Funky and a Busy 2026
In Laila (2025) Vishwak played a double role that included a woman, Laila. His 2026 film Funky, a film-industry satire directed by K. V. Anudeep, in which he played a debut director named Komal, failed at the box office. He ends 2026 with three releases in quick succession: Cult, ENE Repeat and Legacy.

About Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi and ENE Repeat
Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi (2018), written and directed by Tharun Bhascker after his National Award-winning Pelli Choopulu, follows four friends, Vivek, Karthik, Kaushik and Uppi, who reunite years after college and take a trip to Goa that turns into an attempt to make a short film. Its realistic Hyderabadi humour made it a favourite with young viewers, and its dialogues and memes are still popular online. Eight years later, the sequel ENE Repeat, produced by Srujan Yarabolu and Sandeep Nagireddy under S Originals and Rootnode Cinema, brings back Vishwak as Vivek along with Abhinav Gomatam and Venkatesh Kakumanu from the original cast.

Personal Life
Vishwak Sen is not married and keeps his personal life private. He lives in Hyderabad and works closely with his father, Karate Raju, who has produced several of his films. He is known for speaking his mind at film events and in interviews, and for his loyal fan following among young audiences in Telangana.
Why Vishwak Sen Stands Out
Vishwak is one of the few young Telugu actors who also writes and directs his own films. Rising without a big film family behind him, he built his career on rooted Hyderabadi stories and characters, from Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi to Falaknuma Das, while taking risks with experimental work like Gaami and now a slasher thriller, Cult. Three releases in five weeks at the end of 2026 show how busy and in demand he remains.
