Vijay Deverakonda came to movies through Ravi Babu’s romantic comedy film Nuvvilla in 2011. Next year he did a cameo appearance in Shekhar Kammulla’sLife is Beautiful. But both those movies failed to give him a good recognition as an actor. His career got changed by acting in the movie Yevade Subramanyam along with Nani in 2015. His performance in this movie got so many appreciations from critics
After the success of Yevadu Subramanyam he did Pelli Choopulu in 2016 which was a successful movie. The movie also won the award for best Feature film. Next year he did two movies Dwaraka, and Arjun Reddy. Dwaraka was a failure at the box office but Arjun Reddy was a huge success and he bagged many awards for the role of a lazy, alcoholic surgeon.
