Amy Jackson (born 31 January 1992) is a British actress and model who became a star in Indian cinema. Born in Douglas on the Isle of Man and raised in Liverpool, she won Miss Teen World in 2009 and made her film debut in A. L. Vijay’s Tamil period romance Madrasapattinam (2010). She went on to work in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films, including Shankar’s I, Vijay’s Theri, Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and Ram Charan’s Yevadu, and played Saturn Girl in the American series Supergirl. Amy Jackson Early Life and Education
Amy Louise Jackson was born on 31 January 1992 in Douglas, on the Isle of Man. Her parents, Alan and Marguerita Jackson, are both from Liverpool; her father worked at BBC Radio Merseyside. When Amy was two, the family moved back to Liverpool and lived with her grandmother in Woolton. She has an elder sister, Alicia, who is a teacher.
Amy studied at St Edward’s College in West Derby and planned to take A-Levels in English literature, philosophy and ethics. Before she could, a film offer from India changed her plans.

Amy began modelling as a teenager. She won Miss Teen Liverpool and Miss Teen Great Britain, and in 2009 she was crowned Miss Teen World. In 2010 she won Miss Liverpool and was runner-up at Miss England. She signed with Boss Model Management and later with Models 1 in London. Director A. L. Madrasapattinam and early films (2010–2012)
Amy made her debut as Amy Wilkinson, the daughter of a British governor in pre-independence Madras, in A. L. Vijay’s Madrasapattinam (2010), opposite Arya. The cross-cultural love story was a hit and made her an instant name in Tamil cinema. In 2012 she made her Hindi debut in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Ekk Deewana Tha, the Hindi version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, playing Jessie opposite Prateik Babbar. The same year she reunited with A. L. Vijay for the Tamil thriller Thaandavam, with Vikram and Anushka Shetty.
Yevadu, I and big-budget stardom (2014–2016)
Amy made her Telugu debut as Shruthi in Vamshi Paidipally’s action thriller Yevadu (2014), starring Ram Charan, which was a box-office success. Her biggest Tamil film of this period was Shankar’s I (2015), in which she played Diya, a model, opposite Vikram. She also starred in the Hindi comedy Singh Is Bliing (2015) with Akshay Kumar and in Dhanush’s Tamil drama Thanga Magan (2015), alongside Samantha.

In September 2017, Amy was cast in her first Hollywood role as Imra Ardeen, also known as Saturn Girl, in season 3 of The CW’s superhero series Supergirl. She appeared in nine episodes. In 2018 she starred in Shankar’s science-fiction blockbuster 2.0 as Nila, a humanoid robot, opposite Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. The same year she appeared as Sita in the Kannada action film The Villain, with Shiva Rajkumar and Sudeep.
Break and comeback (2019–2024)
After 2.0, Amy took a long break from films to focus on family life in the UK. She returned in 2024 with two releases: A. L. Vijay’s Tamil action film Mission: Chapter 1, in which she played Sandra James opposite Arun Vijay, and Aditya Datt’s Hindi extreme-sports action film Crakk, with Vidyut Jammwal, Arjun Rampal and Nora Fatehi, in which she played Patricia Novak.

Amy was engaged to hotelier George Panayiotou in January 2019, and their son was born in September 2019. The couple separated in 2021. Amy began dating English actor Ed Westwick, best known as Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, in 2022. They got engaged in Gstaad, Switzerland, in January 2024 and married in August 2024 at Rocca Cilento in southern Italy. Their son was born in March 2025.
