Biography/Wiki
Varshini Sounderajan is a familiar name in Telugu entertainment, having worked across films, television, web series and modelling. Her journey is notable because she did not build her career through cinema alone. From starting out as a model to becoming a television presenter and actress, Varshini gradually developed a strong presence among Telugu audiences.
In 2026, she returned to the spotlight with her participation in Bigg Boss Telugu 10, giving viewers an opportunity to see a different side of a personality they have mostly known through television and entertainment programmes.
Early Life and Family Background
Varshini Sounderajan was born and brought up in Hyderabad, Telangana. She comes from a Tamil family and spent her formative years in the city.
She studied at Chirec International School in Hyderabad before pursuing higher education. She later completed a bachelor’s degree in Electronics from St. Joseph’s Degree and PG College, an institution affiliated with Osmania University.
Her educational background is interesting because her eventual career took her in a completely different direction. Instead of following a conventional career connected with her studies, Varshini became interested in modelling and the entertainment industry.
From Modelling to Entertainment
Varshini’s entry into entertainment began with modelling. Working in front of cameras gave her an early understanding of fashion, photography, public appearances and the demands of the entertainment industry.
Modelling eventually opened the door to acting opportunities. Her transition was gradual, allowing her to explore different areas of the industry rather than limiting herself to one particular medium.
This early experience also helped her become comfortable in front of audiences, something that later became particularly useful when she moved into television anchoring.
Film Debut
Varshini made her Telugu film debut with Chandamama Kathalu in 2014. The anthology film brought together several stories and performers and went on to receive the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.
Following her debut, she appeared in several Telugu projects, including Lovers, Kai Raja Kai, Sri Rama Raksha, Nannu Dochukunduvate, Jodi, Malli Modalaindi, Shaakuntalam and Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana. Recent Telugu entertainment coverage also lists several of these films as part of her acting career.
Rather than relying exclusively on films, Varshini continued exploring opportunities in television and digital entertainment.
Television Career
Television became one of the most important stages of Varshini’s career.
She became particularly recognizable through Dhee, the popular Telugu dance-based television programme, where she appeared as a team leader. Her lively screen presence and interaction with other performers helped her gain visibility among television viewers.
She subsequently worked on programmes including Pataas 2, Jabardasth and Comedy Stars. These assignments strengthened her identity as a television presenter in addition to her work as an actress.
Her television career demonstrated an important aspect of her professional journey: she was able to move between acting, hosting and entertainment-based programming.
Pelli Gola and Digital Popularity
Varshini also became associated with the web series Pelli Gola, produced by Annapurna Studios. She appeared alongside Abijeet and continued with subsequent seasons of the series.
The digital platform gave her another opportunity to connect with younger audiences. Her work across television and web content helped establish her as an entertainer with experience beyond traditional Telugu cinema.
Bigg Boss Telugu 10
Varshini Sounderajan became a contestant on Bigg Boss Telugu 10 in 2026. Her participation attracted attention because she already had considerable experience in television and entertainment before entering the reality-show format.
For viewers familiar with her as an anchor and actress, the show provides a different format in which her personality, interactions and approach to situations become part of the entertainment.
Her Bigg Boss appearance also brought renewed attention to her earlier work in films, television and web series.

Why Varshini Became Popular With Telugu Audiences
Varshini’s popularity has developed through multiple forms of entertainment rather than one particular film or programme.
Her television work allowed audiences to see her regularly, while her film appearances gave her experience in cinema. Her web-series work added another dimension to her career.
Her experience as a presenter is also significant. Television hosting requires communication, timing and interaction with different personalities, making it a different skill set from acting in a scripted film.
Over the years, these different experiences have combined to create her current public identity as an actress, model and television presenter.
Personal Life
Varshini has generally kept much of her private life away from the centre of her professional career. Publicly available profiles describe her as being from a Tamil family based in Hyderabad and identify her siblings as Soujanya and Prashanth.
